These vehicles were built from much modified 2 door station wagon bodies on the regular automotive assembly lines and used a limited selection of the regular car line colors. The passenger seat, sunvisor and door armrest were optional. This was the last year a full sized sedan delivery was offered by Chevrolet.


This kit will fit either AMT/ERTL's 59 El Camino or Monogram's 59/60 Impala Chassis.

While I'm not completely sure, I think the tailgate was made from fiberglass when they started making it a swing up unit. I think you could also get interior colors other than gray, but I don't have any info on that yet. A passenger side seat, sunvisor and door armrest were all options. The passenger seat could be folded up and swung forward against the dash for easy access to the cargo area from the curb.

The venerable 135 horse power 235 cu in. 6 came standard, but 2 versions of the 283 were available as options. The first was a 170 HP with a 2 bbl carb or a 230 HP version with the 4 bbl carb.
